Still Alive!

I’ve been absent from my blog for quite a while, apologies for the lack of writing, but very hot weather in August (40-odd every day and hot nights) really did a number on me.  As it was very humid too, the heat really exacerbated the  good ol’ fibromyalgia and it’s taking me a while to really get back on my feet.

I’ve also been focused on my digital art as it really helps me stay positive when my health is a bit challenging..

I’ve really had to re-assess what I can and can’t do as my tendency is to pretend the fibro and hip pain don’t exist, except they have a mind of their own and make their presence known!  At present I’m focusing on an art exhibition I’m holding here in North Cyprus on 22nd November. I’ll be showing my acrylic, mandala, vision board and digital art, as well as photography from Australia and New Cyprus.

I’m not a terribly practical person as I prefer the creative process rather than the practical one, so I’ve decided to spend my time from now until 22nd November on all the background stuff needed to get the exhibition up and running, and then return to this blog after that time.

Then I shall be writing about my trips to China – exciting and memorable. And also about my health issues and how I’ve worked with various alternative therapies over the years. Thereafter, I’ll be posting every other day, health taking into consideration, and posting art on the intervening days.

My apologies for my absence, but for once I’m listening to my body and taking things step by step. It’s very frustrating to do so, by the way, but perhaps common sense has hit me in my golden oldie years!

    1. Thanks very much, Honey, been a difficult year health-wise. I didn’t realise I’d done so much damage when the dogs tripped me up but it’s taken a long time to get over and the heat this summer was horrendous. Thankfully autumn’s here and it’s much cooler, so I’m feeling more energetic. Take care yourself! 😀

      1. I am so sorry to hear that you have had such a terrible and painful time. It sounds like you had a terrible fall. I hope and pray that you recover soon. Fibermyialgia on top of all that must be a very difficult cross to bear. I am glad that your art work heals your soul and regenerates you. Take care !

    2. Thanks for your kind words and hope you are picking up too. I’ve been tearing my hair out trying to sort out blog posts via WordPress which is why my comments have been sporadic, but I think I’ve finally nailed it, thank god.

      1. This illness has passed it’s 6 month point. I am still under medical care. I am trying to hang in there.

I hope you continue to find time to read post. I know what you mean they keep making improvements on WordPress which are hard to keep up with and are time consuming to read up on. I still can’t figure out how to update my blog picture. I am working on it.

    1. Thanks, Amanda, my brain was so scrambled by the heat I just gave up on writing. Gradually coming good – and getting more sensible, bit of a hard job!

    1. Thanks, Marylou, I think without alternative therapies the fibro would be far worse than it is.

      2. Yes, it went well, Charlotte. The studio is well-lit, had to improvise a bit with displaying artwork but i had help from my husband and two good friends. Had a friend singing who is really good, and although there weren’t huge numbers, there was a steady stream of viewers AND I sold quite a bit of art. I’m thrilled – going to do a blog about it tomorrow because I overcame a huge fear that’s haunted me all my life to hold the exhibition – that no-one would come, but they did and we all had a really enjoyable time.
